We work through a 5-tier approach to empowering women artisans: In each of these steps, we work with our artisans on equal footing basis- we take care of their rights and privileges and also provide them access to better skills, designs and material resources and they in-turn produce the best quality at right wages conforming to strict timelines and terms. Working in a progressive social enterprise environment helps both ends in a win-win manner. As a result, we gain more confidence among our buyers and win more buyers in the process.
Going forward, we plan to rope some of our artisans into the company’s board of directors to give them a stake in the company while contributing actively in its progress.
We organise skill training and upgradation along with exposure trips for our artisans on a periodic basis.
We hire professional designers to train our artisans on better designs and patterns while providing technological inputs.
Apart from Fair-wages, our artisans are linked to Govt. Schemes for social security and other benefits.
Our artisans, their craft practices and other peculiar craft elements form the basis for our branding and marketing.
We have roped our artisans into their own entities like self help groups and producer companies to empower themselves in a true sense.
